Halloween Haul 2012

Despite my good intentions I have still been neglecting my poor blog (I have just been so busy lately). Even though it's a bit late I thought I would share my Halloween purchases of 2012.
Apologies for the not so great photography I did it on a very dull day and in a bit of a rush.

I love these glass bottles bought from TK Maxx for £5.99 each.

Two of my favourite purchases this year both from Marks & Spencer. Spider cake stand and witches hat hoopla.

The rest of my Halloween purchases were bought from Hobbycraft:

Glitter skeleton cupcake wrappers and Frankenstein wrappers, complete with bolts!

Skeleton chocolate mould and Cupcake gravestone kit, comes with edible ink pen to write your own messages.

These coffin treat boxes are very pretty (If you can describe coffins as pretty!)

Felt ghost treat bag and felt garlands, includes witches, cats and bats.

Lastly, this is something my Mum surprised me with. She knows I have been wanting to try something a bit more gorey for a while now. And I have seen great results achieved with this kit online. I am dressing up as a devil this year but I may have to squeeze in a costume change so I can use this kit.

I'm pleased to say I have actually cut down quite a bit on my Halloween buying. (I've had to because I'm still on a mission to clear out!) Normally I go round all the supermarkets as soon as they've put their stuff out. But this year I've only been to one supermarket to look and I didn't even buy anything.

Black Cats Galore... But I Still Want More!

Today I received a very exciting parcel from my favourite Etsy shop, Miss Bumbles.  Included in this parcel were some of the purchases mentioned in my previous post. And also a very special custom order.

The first thing I asked for in this custom order was a Marie Antoinette black cat. She turned out beautifully, I love her pink powdered wig and she even has her very own pet rat.

The next thing I asked for was a little black cat clown. He is just so cute, I love his little red nose and his cheery smile.

Next is this gorgeous baking kitty. She comes with freshly made mouse tarts and a fishy sponge cake. She managed to resist eating them on the journey to my house!

Last but certainly not least is this stunning French themed garland. It combines my two favourite things, black cats and France. The detail in this garland is just amazing, I love everything about it!
All pictures belong to Miss Bumbles you can find her Etsy shop here.

I will be posting pictures of the whole collection soon, I have finally found the perfect place for them all. I'm sure I will be adding to the collection soon. I just can't get enough of these pieces from one of the best artists on Etsy!

More Sale Delights

Yesterday  I decided to go into town to see for myself  what the sales had to offer. And I was not disappointed. Although my purse may not be so happy!
My first stop was Lush and my luck was in, the half price sale was still on. I bought all single items, mainly Christmas items with a couple of Halloween thrown in. It was a great feeling going to the till and getting change from a £20.00 note for all this lovely stuff.

My next stop was Paperchase. I love their Patisserie Pals range. I have the cake stand from the range. They had this gorgeous tin reduced from £7.50 to £3.50.  Then I spotted these very cute and quirky cookie cutter lights. These were a steal at half price, down from £15.00 to £7.50. I fell in love with them and they had to come home with me.

While standing in the queue in Primark buying some rather mundane things, I spotted these Lip Smackers reduced to £1.00 each.  I really like these fizzy drink flavoured Smackers (I'm using Cherry Coke at the moment). So I went for Orange Fanta and Sprite.

Then H&M, this item wasn't in the sale but I just had to have it. I was in the children's section to see what Hello Kitty items were on offer. I couldn't see anything of great interest. Until I saw this beautiful little cardigan which was a reddish orange colour with a white collar and it had a very cute little black cat on it.
I have to confess that I do buy children's clothes if they have a black cat on them for my collection. So it goes without saying that I bought it and I think it was reasonably priced at £9.99.
If all of this wasn't enough I then decided to make my way to TK Maxx. My Mum had mentioned to me that the last time she was in, they had Ruby cake sprinkles. She was going to buy them (she knows I'm a sucker for anything with my cats' names on). Even better if it's baking related. But in the end she didn't get them. So I thought I would go and see if they had any left because I knew I would love them. They did and I bought a tub for £2.99.

Always on the hunt for a new cookbook to add to my growing collection, I went upstairs to see what they had to offer.  I came away with The Best Of Cadbury's Chocolate Cooking. A bargain at the same price as the sprinkles.

After all that it was time to make my way home. I am so pleased I had a good look around. I came away with some little gems.

Shopping, Halloween and Dolls.

On Tuesday my Mum and I went on another shopping trip. We started at Matalan. They had a small amount of Halloween bits in. I made a few small purchases. I bought a ceramic black cat T lite holder £1, a black cat hair band £3 and a cardboard cake stand £2.
Then we went to a local garden centre, we didn't buy much there. It has been a while since we have been in the shop next to the garden centre but we decided to go and get some cheese (I am a cheese addict, the hotter the better). I didn't get any cheese but they did have a stand of lovely baking goodies, which is new since we were last there. There were lots of different and unusual things to choose from but I narrowed it down to two. I bought black crystal sprinkles and purple crystal sprinkles. I haven't been baking much lately but I can't wait to use these!
After that little purchase we had a look around the rest of the shop. I was drawn to a glass cabinet which contained some pretty cloth dolls. There was one I particularly liked...
My Mum loves Alice In Wonderland and she has got me into it too. So it is no surprise I love this doll. My lovely Mum very kindly bought her for me! She was made by Lesley Cameron from Lesley Jane Dolls. I have discovered her Etsy shop (I am also an Etsy addict) which has lots of other cute dolls.
