Halloween Haul 2012

Despite my good intentions I have still been neglecting my poor blog (I have just been so busy lately). Even though it's a bit late I thought I would share my Halloween purchases of 2012.
Apologies for the not so great photography I did it on a very dull day and in a bit of a rush.

I love these glass bottles bought from TK Maxx for £5.99 each.

Two of my favourite purchases this year both from Marks & Spencer. Spider cake stand and witches hat hoopla.

The rest of my Halloween purchases were bought from Hobbycraft:

Glitter skeleton cupcake wrappers and Frankenstein wrappers, complete with bolts!

Skeleton chocolate mould and Cupcake gravestone kit, comes with edible ink pen to write your own messages.

These coffin treat boxes are very pretty (If you can describe coffins as pretty!)

Felt ghost treat bag and felt garlands, includes witches, cats and bats.

Lastly, this is something my Mum surprised me with. She knows I have been wanting to try something a bit more gorey for a while now. And I have seen great results achieved with this kit online. I am dressing up as a devil this year but I may have to squeeze in a costume change so I can use this kit.

I'm pleased to say I have actually cut down quite a bit on my Halloween buying. (I've had to because I'm still on a mission to clear out!) Normally I go round all the supermarkets as soon as they've put their stuff out. But this year I've only been to one supermarket to look and I didn't even buy anything.

Quirky Easter Chocolate

It is a well known fact that I am a chocoholic. I love making my own chocolates but not quite as much as eating the stuff!
I was in Marks and Spencer the other day looking at their Easter offerings and I have to say I was very impressed.  They have much more than the bog standard Easter eggs. I loved some of it so much, I decided to splurdge.

It is no surprise that I was drawn to this Hello Kitty London chocolate figure. feline and chocolate, what more could you want? M&S are really going down the British route this year. Hello Kitty is sporting her Union Jack coloured Hundreds and Thousands dress. (I had this last year and the dress was a mixture of pinks purples and yellows.) I like the British touch but I wish they had coloured the bow red to match in with the dress. (Me, picky? Maybe a little).

I love ducks and I would like to have some of my own one day. So when I saw these they were a must. Their Royal Ducknesses are so cute (almost too cute to eat). They would be perfect for any Diamond Jubilee celebrations, something different for the centre of your table.

Last but not least is this Great British Breakfast egg. I think this is one of the quirkiest Easter eggs I have ever seen. Who would have thought you could buy an anthropomorphic Easter egg? I think my favourite part is the "baked beans" for hair.

I spent more than I normally would on chocolate in one go but I really think it's worth it. It is great to see M&S making such an effort with their products when it seems so many other shops have just gave up and no longer try to bring new and exciting things. Even in these hard times, I think people will still spend some money if the products are good enough.
My only problem now is trying to keep these until Easter...

Halloween Lush Style

The day after my birthday (Sunday), we went on another shopping trip. Locally this time. I have been looking forward to the new Halloween products arriving at Lush. Although I hoped for a bigger range, I still wasn't disappointed. I purchased everything except the soap from the halloween range.

Skullduggery has a citrus scent with lime and neroli.

Calacus also goes down the citrus route with a lime jelly bean scent.

This pumpkin knot wrap is so sweet. I purchased mine with a fizzbanger ballistic inside. Fizzbanger changes colour once in the water and smells like apple crumble. I think this is one of my new favourites from Lush!

Whilst shopping we popped into Marks & Spencer. And I added to my haul a cardboard cake stand with spinning bats at the top. I also bought a black glittery cardboard candelabra (which I really love). I am thinking I may need a small shed to accommodate my Halloween things if I carry on like this...
